MidMichigan Impact Clinic

This is your chance to get hands-on experience with what it's like to be part of a high-energy, performance-driven indoor marching percussion ensemble; often known as percussion theater.

 

Whether you're a seasoned performer or just curious about what it takes, this clinic is designed to introduce you to the unique blend of musicianship, movement, and emotional storytelling that defines MidMichigan Impact.

(Enter through the main entrance on Eastman, across from Pet Smart, and follow the signs)

Who Should Attend

- Ages 11 to 22 years old
 
- Those interested in percussion or guard/movement (no experience necessary)

- Requires music experience; percussion experience not necessary

Cost of Registration

The cost of the clinic is $20.

What You'll Learn Overall

Playing Technique - Get a feel for our musical style and precision​​

​

Marching Fundamentals - Learn how we move as one unit on the floor

​

Emotional Performance - Explore how we tell powerful stories through music and motion

The clinic will be split into two sessions to allow you to try two different sections. You will be able to choose two of the following areas:

 

Battery (Drums) - Bass, cymbals, snare, tenor

 

​Front Ensemble (Pit) - Auxiliary percussion, drum set, mallets, synth

​

Guard (Visual Line) - Dance, flag, movement-based storytelling

Following the two sessions of the clinic, there will be open discussion to learn more about:

  • Music and materials you'll need to prepare for auditions​

  • Next steps if you want to join the Impact family and what positions we are offerings​

  • Q & A to get all your questions answered

Wrap-up and Audition Info

This will provide parents and opportunity during the clinic to go over any questions that may not have been addressed in the audition packet. This will be held when students start their first session.

Parent Info Meeting

Attending the clinic does not mean you are committed to auditioning. However, if you plan to audition, the Clinic is highly encouraged.
